Spreading love

As-salāmu ʿalaykum, European is quite known with their good value in greeting and have a small talk with strangers. They are very friendly. Some of them will treat you like their long-lost friend, asking about how are you doing and things like that.

I reflected on this and I believe that we could actually create a better world by spreading love. Even in Islamic teaching, spreading salam is one of remarkable good deeds. To dig deeper on this, we need to always go back to the root meaning of it. Salam means peace. I wish we could store peace all over the world because that is only how we could live a beautiful life without hatred.But commonly, even though we already knew the meaning of salam, everytime the words flowing out from our lips, we often forget the meaning. Not literally forget, but we just have it on our tongue and not in our hearts. From now on, I hope I would utter the words by truly saying it by heart.

Islam also highlights the smile as sadaqah (charitable act). There are also few things that you can easily do it daily and the act will be counted as sadaqah, inshaallah.

Abu Dhar reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:

“Your smile to your brother is a sadaqah (charitable act) for you. Your commanding the right and forbidding the wrong is a sadaqah. Your guiding a man in the land of misguidance is a sadaqah for you. Your seeing (showing the way) for a man with bad eyesight is a sadaqah for you. Your removing a stone or thorn or bone from the road is a sadaqah for you. Your emptying your bucket of water into your brother’s (empty) bucket is a sadaqah for you.” {tirmidhi}

This beautiful hadith is the perfect sign of peace. Spreading love for people around you, be it they are someone you know or a complete stranger. Your simple act would leave a big impact to other people. I read it somewhere, the possible reason why smile is categorized as Sadaqah ; because of the power of the smile. It is contagious. It would make someone who burdened with their problems feels better when you smile and sending them positive energy. If the power of smile is this significant, I wonder how huge will it be for the power of salam. Because you are literally duʿāʾfor a peace upon that person. It just like a trade. Whenever you meet the eyes, you interchanging the duʿāʾfor the peace. SubhanaAllah, How amazing this way of life (deen). :)

Is this your happiness?

I'm always keep repeating in my dua that I want to travel part of the world one day. I keep repeating it daily.

Last December, I flew straightaway to Bandung after my final examination. I was thinking about spending time there for 2 weeks. But with the Power of Allah, I have been called to come back to Malaysia and getting ready to fly to Ireland. Fully sponsored. I could not believe it. It is mind blowing because actually I didn't just bought the tickets to Indonesia. But, I also bought a ticket for solo backpacking in Seoul, Korea. It is on June 2018 inshaAllah.

And now, I have to travel to Europe between those 2 destinations. The route will be Indonesia, Europe, Korea. It is really a full year of travel. If you ask me why I would love to travel, it is mainly because I want to gain experience and see the world. It is also my dream to experience the Islamic ambience abroad.

And now, what I could say is to rethink again what is happening in my life. This is a blessing but at the same time also a test for me. It makes me ponder on how grateful to live in Malaysia with a warm weather. Yes, I love winter and maybe some of you love winter. While Malaysia sometimes can be scorching hot. But to look on the bright side of it, in the hot weather during the afternoon in Malaysia, it will be very refreshing when you take ablution (wudhuk) during that time. But here, every single minutes is totally cold. Even heater in my room could not compromise. It is quite challenging to take a wudhuk even you have heater in the toilet. Because when you go out from the toilet, you will be shaking because it is really cold.

Fajr is a big challenge. It is a colder moment in a day. Touch the phone to stop the alarm clock, it is just like you touch an ice block. To get out from bed and touch the floor need full demand of emaan there :D . Especially when you are alone at room. Nobody going to remind you.

But I also find something beautiful in this struggle. For every single minutes of struggle and the 'vibration' of my body, I know Allah counts every single of it. It is well-recorded. And that's what keep me going. It is beautiful to just depend and rely on Him. When no one reminds you, you remind yourself that Allah is watching. He is All-Seeing. May Allah rewards our struggle. All of us.
